Caterpillar Announces Huge Job Cut

US construction equipment giant Caterpillar announced it was to cut about 20,000 jobs, after its profits slumped by 32 percent. This job cut equates to about 18 percent of the company’s entire workforce, and will also be accompanied by freezes in overtime and salaries. Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines.
