Miami of Ohio University to Announce Job Cuts
Sunday, December 14th, 2008Job cuts are also affecting those in the higher education system, in which most people had thought to be immune to job loss. Recently Miami of Ohio University announced that they may be cutting as many as 100 jobs starting in 2009.
Due to unanticipated budget shortfalls, U of O will need to find $22 million in budget cuts.
Dave Hodge, the president of the University, says he himself, will not collect a $68,000 performance bonus that he earned for the last academic year, and also refuses to take any pay increases that are larger than those of his faculty.
